Emmy Awards 2012 – Il trionfo di Homeland e (di nuovo) Modern Family di Diego Castelli

Ed eccoci qui a commentare gli Emmy, magari non troppo, visto che sto scrivendo in pausa pranzo. Al Villa è toccato l’onore di fare la maratona in radio fino alle sei del mattino, quindi ora starà dormendo della grossa, e tocca a me fare l’elencone con i vincitori, mettendo dentro anche qualche categoria che di solito viene lasciata fuori, per economia di spazio. Ma a me pare giusto dare anche agli stuntmen quello che è degli stuntmen…

Vi lascio al commento voce per voce (dove mi va di metterlo), ma possiamo dire che questa edizione ci ha più o meno soddisfatto. La grande vittoria di Homeland nei drama era prevedibile e per quanto mi riguarda auspicata, così come certi riconoscimenti minori ma goduriosissimi come l’emmy come migliore attore non protagonista ad Aaron Paul di Breaking Bad. Certo, rimangono cose che facciamo fatica a capire come i continui riconoscimenti a Modern Family. E soprattutto rimane l’amarezza per la mancata inclusione (spesso nemmeno nelle nomination) dei vari Community, Parks & Recreation, Sons of Anarchy. Sono decisioni che davvero non comprendiamo, ma a cui ormai abbiamo fatto una dolorosa abitudine…

Partiamo subito con quello che evidentemente è un equivoco tutto nostro. Io ho mollato Modern Family a metà della seconda stagione. Non perché fosse diventato “brutto”, ma semplicemente perché non avevo più voglia di seguirlo, non riusciva a interessarmi come altri show. A questo punto mi viene da pensare che ho fatto una sciocchezza e che quindi devo fare un bel recuperone, visto che ogni volta viene premiato. Ditemelo voi: mi sono perso genialate indicibili, oppure i giudici degli emmy sono tutti parenti di Sofia Vergara? Inutile dire che avrei fatto vincere Girls, anche se, ancora una volta, in queste nomination mancano proprio dei nomi.

Solo perché l’ha detto il Villa però, l’opinione di un fratello serialminder conta più di quella dei giudici degli Emmy.

Invece ha vinto Girls, e grazie a Dio, aggiungerei, visto che i personaggi della serie di Lena Dunham sono entrati immediatamente nel nostro immaginario collettivo di appassionati telefilmici, e con pochi episodi si sono imposti come alcune tra le figure migliori del panorama seriale attuale. Insieme, poi sono un fantastico gruppo di disagiati a cui non puoi che voler bene. Certo, dove abbiano lasciato Shameless lo sanno solo loro…

Ma è l’anno di Homeland, era giusto che lo fosse, e quindi via così.

Ancora un premio che mi trova d’accordo: vero che Smash ha messo in campo vere e proprie canzoni originali, facendo quel passo che Glee non aveva ancora compiuto. Ma la colonna sonora di Downton è effettivamente spettacolare.
